How to Batch Remove Metadata from Images

Upload multiple photos to the tool above, or select an entire folder. Ensure "Deep Clean" mode is selected, then click "Remove Metadata — All". The tool will process your batch locally, completely deleting the hidden metadata headers while preserving the visual pixels of the images. Once the batch is complete, click "Download All as ZIP" to get a neat archive of your clean files.

Why Remove Metadata from Images?

Privacy protection: GPS metadata can reveal your home address if photos are taken at home. OSINT prevention: Investigators can track your device, location patterns, and daily routine from photo metadata. Copyright management: Remove or replace ownership information before publishing. File size reduction: Metadata removal can reduce JPEG file size by 5-30KB.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does removing EXIF data reduce image quality?
No. EXIF metadata is separate from the image pixel data. Removing it does not affect visual quality at all. The canvas re-encode may introduce minor JPEG compression if you export as JPG, but at 98% quality this is visually lossless.
Can I process entire folders?
Yes. You can select all files in a folder and drag them into the drop zone. The tool will queue them up for bulk processing. We recommend batches of 20-50 photos at a time to avoid overwhelming your browser memory.
Is my image uploaded?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API and JSZip. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
