Square Post (1:1): 1080×1080px — the classic Instagram format, works in all feed placements. Portrait Post (4:5): 1080×1350px — the tallest allowed format, takes up more screen real estate in the feed and gets more engagement. Story / Reel (9:16): 1080×1920px — full-screen vertical format for Stories and Reels. Profile Picture: Displayed at 110×110px but upload at 320×320px minimum for crisp quality.
Choose PNG output for lossless quality. For JPG, set quality to 95%+. Always start from the highest resolution image you have — cropping reduces pixels but doesn't add blur if you stay above the minimum Instagram display resolution (1080px wide for posts).
