When Would You Need an Image to Be 20KB?
State government scholarship portals (e.g. post-matric scholarship, National Scholarship Portal) often have tight file size ranges — for example "Photo must be between 10KB and 20KB". Some older university portals and municipal corporation forms also have these small ranges. If you compressed your photo too aggressively, it might fall to 5–8KB, causing an upload failure. This tool re-encodes it to reach at least 20KB.
My 20KB inflated photo was still rejected — why? ▾
Rejections after inflation are usually due to wrong dimensions (portals check pixel size, not just KB), wrong format (JPEG vs PNG), or the portal's maximum limit (e.g. they only want up to 15KB). Double-check both the min and max size range on the portal.
